Tim Burton's Superman Lives!

Remember when Tim Burton's Batman movies were the best Batman movies around? When it seemed like a good idea for the director to helm a Superman reboot, even though the Nic Cage casting left us scratching our heads?
SlashFilm.com has images of costume tests from the failed project, posted by Steve Johnson, Lives' visual and makeup effects guru, on his Facebook page. The images show that Burton's Superman would have used Lite Brite tech and a metal "S" logo for the chest piece. (Also, you can see an early version of the suit modeled on a mold of Nic Cage.)

Burton's Superman movie was a big deal in the mid to late 1990s; as most of you already know, Kevin Smith was hired to write a draft of the screenplay at one point. Burton's project went bye-bye, and Warner Bros. turned their attention to what would become Bryan Singer's Superman Returns instead.

  2. The shining suit with lights in it was a big mistake, even in 1990 it was old fashioned.
There is no doubt that tim burton is one of the greatest director, but superman is loved by every age group, not just kids.
